The Invertebrate Game

Game Design

1.Gather Information
2. Develop Game Questions
3. Write Instructions/rules
4. Design Game Board and Play Pieces

Create a game: (60 points)

* Your game MUST include a game board, done with graphics/pictures, words, and color, moving pieces

* The questions you developed will be used as a part of the game

* Your questions will be graded on creativity and ACCURACY!

* You will write out the directions for your game so the game can easily be played without guidance from your team

* Spelling and grammar count

* Cooperative work within your group will be evaluated by individuals within your group and by teacher observation

* The teacher will evaluate creativity and quality of work

Questions for the Game

Gather information about the Invertebrate groups and then develop questions to be used in the game.

Create a short study guide for each organism that will cover 4-6 key characteristics that allow scientists to identify your organism.  For instance if you were creating a study guide about mammals your list would include: (10 points)

                            * All mammals have hair

                            * All mammals give birth to live young

                            * All mammals have a backbone

                            * All mammals produce milk to feed their young

                            * All mammals are warm-blooded

Create at least 20 questions about each organism. Include the answers.   These questions will: (40 points)

                                        * Include questions about which organisms are included in your phyla (6 or more)

                                        * Include questions about characteristics of these organisms (6 or more)

                                        * Include questions that describe how your two phyla are similar to each other (at least 4)

                                        * Include questions that describe how your two phyla are different from each other (at least 4)
